- Why is the app asking for location permission?
- We use your location to determine local weather so we can show relevant artwork and conditions. You can change or revoke this in iOS Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
- How do I select art?
- Some artists have multiple paintings per weather condition. Tap the screen to switch between paintings within that weather condition. Select the artist’s name at the bottom of the screen to swap between artists. As the weather condition changes, different artwork will become available to view.
- How do I make the paintings autoplay?
- Toggle the “Autoplay” switch on to enable autoplay. Toggle the switch off to turn off autoplay. Paintings will cycle through selected artist's masterpieces. If you also have "Randomize" selected, it will autoplay through random artists and their paintings.
- How do I make the paintings randomize?
- Toggle the “Randomize Artist and Painting” switch on to enable randomize. Toggle the switch off to turn off randomize. Each time you open the app, a random artist and their painting will appear. Each time you tap the painting, it will advance to a random artist and their painting. If you have autoplay enabled, it will advance to a random artist and their work.
- How do I turn on background music?
- Toggle the “Background Music” switch on to enable music. Toggle the switch off to turn off music. If your device is in silent mode, the app will not play music, even if it is enabled. Turn off silent mode to enable background music.
- How do I remove ads?
- Subscribe via the in-app “Remove Ads” purchase. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings.
- What data does the app collect?
- The app does not collect detailed usage analytics itself. Any aggregated performance insights Apple provides are anonymous and not tied to you personally. Google Ads/AdMob may collect advertising identifiers to serve ads; you can opt out via the standard iOS tracking controls. Location is used only with your permission to fetch weather and select artwork. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
- How do I report a bug or issue?
- Email support with device model, iOS version, steps to reproduce, and screenshots if applicable.
- How do I request deletion of my data?
- Because we do not store personal usage analytics, there is usually nothing to delete on our side. You can clear any local state by reinstalling the app or using a “reset” feature if available. To disable ad personalization, use the AppTrackingTransparency prompt or adjust settings in iOS. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID. For any other data (e.g., from a support interaction), email support@fairweathersociety.com with “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line.
- What type of art is featured in the app?
- Fair Weather Society pairs live, location-based weather with public-domain fine art and optional music that reflect the mood of the weather condition. Location permission drives which artwork is shown. If denied, a centered message prompts the user to enable it with a shortcut to Settings. Some artworks include classical, non-sexualized nudity for aesthetic/historical context—no explicit or graphic content.
Troubleshooting Tips

- Restart the app if weather or artwork fails to load.
